She tries to help her in any way that she can.Īfter being teased in school about having a baby, Jacey thinks she needs to see the baby’s father Brad, so she leaves to go see him. Now, her teacher Donna realizes why Jacey says and acts the ways she does in class and towards her peers. Just as this happening some of the girls from school were walking by and looked disgustedly at Jacey when they realized that she was actually a mother. Jacey denies it, but it’s clear that she was the mother. While Jacey’s mother is checking her out Jacey is sitting in a wheelchair (hospital policy) holding her baby “brother”, when Donna her Health teacher starts to talk to her and realizes that the baby is not her “brother” but her child. Her mother insisted that Jacey see their family doctor and that she will be fine. The ER doctor told her that she needs to be checked out, but that he thinks she is just dehydrated.
Her mother Terry comes rushing in with the baby in her arms and is frantic. Both of them were there at the swim meet and go with Jacey as she is rushed to the hospital. Her Health teacher Donna and her Gym teacher are actually married. At a swim meet, she takes another “vitamin” and again swims really well, record breaking time, but she gets out of the pool and collapses. Another girl gives Jacey a “vitamin” and Jacey does really well swimming. At first she refuses, but does end up on the team. Jacey is in Gym class and while all the other girls are fooling around and not really taking the swimming seriously, she is and the swim coach Bob Cooper notices. Jacey acted like she didn’t care and just walked out.
It turns out that her teacher was taking shots to help her become pregnant, for she desired to have baby very much. Of course Jacey just walked out, but her teacher was compelled to explain what was doing.
Jacey does know first hand from experience the consequences of promiscuous behavior…pregnancy! Jacey somehow went to an office and opened the door I think it was the coach’s office and she sees her Health teacher Donna giving herself a shot in the leg. The comments that Jacey says makes her sound, especially to an adult that she somehow knows that what they her peers are doing is wrong and like if they only had a clue as to what this behavior can lead to. Jacey ends up criticizing some of the other students and her Health teacher notices her comments and takes a special interest in her. She witnesses some of it in the girls bathroom as well as listening to others talk about it in a Health class, where it is openly discussed with the Health teacher Donna Cooper (Jane Krakowski) during class. While in this new school she sees how most of her peers are exhibiting promiscuous behavior. Jacey’s and her family move and her mother enrolls her in a new school. Jacey is not to tell anyone that she, is in fact the baby’s mother. Her mother wants to do this so that Jacey can finish high school, live somewhat a normal life and graduate. After giving birth to a beautiful baby boy, she realizes that she cannot give him up and her mother steps in and makes the decision that if Jacey wants to keep the baby then she, her mother will raise the baby as hers. Jacey and her mother Terry (Mercedes Ruehl) decide that she will give up the baby for adoption, except it doesn’t quite happen that way. She is a model student who gets good grades and is on the swim team. This movie is about a sixteen year old girl named Jacey Jeffries (Danielle Panabaker) who is a high school student.
